The standard for application-neutral wiring in industrial premises ISO/IEC 24702 stipulates the connector of variant 4. This, extraordinary space saving connector provides a Gigabit-link to the machine while having the same installation dimensions as a 4-way M12 connector. The connectors of variant 4 are standardized in the IEC 61073-3-106, designed to meet the demands of harsh industrial environments, guaranteeing IP67 class protection whether mated or unmated (using the IP67 protection cap).
