Digital and Analogue Applications
So-called High Definition Television (HDTV) digital technology is continually gaining in importance. The driving force accelerating this process is the fact that many television broadcasting companies are converting from the analogue PAL standard to the digital HDTV system. This new standard (with approx. 500000 pixel) offers a far higher definition and thus a significantly clearer picture on your TV-screen.
The higher transmission data rates required for HDTV (25 Mbit/s per channel compared to 4 or 5 Mbit/s per channel for PAL systems) necessitate RF connectors with significantly improved 75 ohm impedance matching. Connectors suitable for HDTV transmission line must, therefore, show excellent return loss values up to 3 GHz.
The shown return loss are typical values. Slight deviations are possible, dependant on the cable used.
