Information on DVI:
DVI (Digital Visual Interface) will supersede the previous digital connection standards DFP (Digital Flat Panel) and P&D (Plug & Display) in the long run. Particularly in connection with LCD flat screens this interface becomes more and more important. DVI interface allows for a resolution of up to 2048x1536 (QXGA). According to the display´s requirements, DVI features mere digital or combined analogue/digital connections.

According to the display´s requirements, DVI features mere digital or combined analogue/digital connections.
Specifications:
- EMI/RFI shielding in a piece, thus considerably reducing signal distorting interferences.
- Insulation resistance increased by up to 25%
- No soldering. The applied connector design does not require 360°C soldering, thus eliminating the risks of human failure during production as well as the cracking of soldering joints and the resulting loose contacts. As there is no need for flux materials, there is no negative impact on the environvent.
- Transmissions are reliable at a maximum distance of 10 m (5 m in connection with some Silicon Graphics cards). Repeaters and boosters allow for the extension of the transmission distance.
